Congressional amusement
park costs too much

Editor:

Senator Alan Simpson said not long ago that Social Security shortfalls should not be paid for with money taken out of the general revenues. Hear, Hear!

Then on the 11th of January my local paper shows Senator Simpson detailing his brilliant plans. Certain categories of Social Security benefits, he says, should be transferred to other agencies. Boo!

These other agencies are funded out of general revenues I presume. Unless, of course, the general revenues don’t come out of tax hikes. They come out of revenue enhancements, or something like that. Where were we?

There is no end to the amusement these people offer us. Too bad it costs so much.
